  • Pro comp ES9000 problems!!

Truck is in the garage at the moment getting some suspension 'tweaking' done!

Ive just had a call from the guy saying theres a problem with the front shocks. Basically the stock toyota bolt on the lower shock mount is too large to get in the metal sleeve.

Anyone else had this problem? Have i got the wrong shocks?

Hes going to get over it all, no problems. But either way it would be nice to lay this mystery to rest!!

I have the ES3000s. They came with a bunch of sleeves and rubber bushes. I think in the end I didn't use a metal sleeve, but still had to 'persuade' the bolt to go in.

      Eh????

What is the part number you used on the order (see packing slip) or is the guy at the garage trying it on for some more labour charge???

Your shocks should be standard fit for the Toyota, I've ordered about 3 sets over the past two years (two lifts on one truck, one on the other) and never had that problem......

Check the part numbers, call ProComp and see what you got sent.

Thats we are going to do, just leave the sleeve out - at least for now!

I'll try an check mate, I know the guy personally an he wont take me for a ride - like i said i went down an checked it all out.

at worse i guess just changing the bolts would suffice!!

I have had mine fitted today and the rear ones were an issue - metal sleeve left out and was still a nightmare apparantly.
How can I be lost when I've got no where to go

And what would happen if you used a smaller diameter bolt?

Its a bit odd! Like i said, nothing that cant be overcome with some different hardware! buts its a P.I.T.A

Well they did my fronts really easy - spooky.

They all seem fine anyway. DD

                      Cheers Tonyn

Trust me mate, the rears are about 6ft bloomin long!! probably wouldn't fit the front even with full compression!!

When i fitted mine. I left the metal sleeves out on front and rears and have never had any probs yet. On the rears, i couldnt get the rubber over the lower mount bar, so cut it in half with a hacksaw blade, put the 1st bit on, then seated the shock onto that, then the 2nd bit, then replaced the bolt. And again, never had any probs yet.
