  • Engine rattle?

Hi, this is actually a mechanical question as opposed to my usual drivel I come out with

After starting my truck, not necessarily from cold, I have a steep slope to go down. I hear like a rattling sound coming from the ?top of the engine? that gets louder (usually in 2nd gear) if I accelerate. I feel if I accelerate more I might do damage. I don't notice it when the engine is warm. I haven't changed the oil for a while. Also when doing a hill start say, in slimey fields, there is a metal squealy noise (clutch slipping?) until I take my foot of the clutch. Anyone know what going on?

New oil and filter, and if it's still happening, don't worry about it. If it gets any worse, consider having it checked, but I wouldn't overly worry about a top end rattle.

the hamsters haven't woken up properly and their wheels overrun on them, once they wake up they're ok.

Is that a difficult/expensive bit to fix?

New clutch plate assembly. Prices should be on RoughTrax. The replacement is a solid one, so it's more reliable, and should last the vehicle once it's done.

Not quite the same. My screeching is only when I take off in 1st on a hill, as soon as I take my foot off the clutch and get going it stops.

                        Nothing like some primal screeching!

OMG Just realised I'm back on to the meaningless drivel
