  • Multi region dvd player

Anybody recomend a cheap multi region dvd payer . Preferably straight out of the box or one it is easy to get a code for ?
Just been through all the different ones in the house and couldn't find any free codes for them .
Got a couple of US dvds on the way and no way to watch them

If you're only using 1 other region you might be better off buying a cheap 2nd DVD player and finding the codes to switch it's region. Our DVD recorder/player told you how to do it in the instruction manual, but you can only switch a limited number of times then it locks permanently on the 3rd switch or something apparently. Do a bit of research first, it might not be the same for all players. But if it is and it's only a one off it might work, or see if you can rip them on the computer and record in a different region.

      DVD hack

Not sure reading your thread if you have an existing player,if you do try this site http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/m...n/hackable.asp to convert to a multi-region player.Good luck.

Yeah , we've got 3 but almost everywhere I've looked doesn't list the codes or say it's not possible to hack them . There was one or 2 places asking a tenner that say they can do anything but I was a bit dubious .
I'd rather just buy a cheap supermarket dvd player that's easy to crack

You could always do it on the PC... google for "SMPlayer" -- region free DVD playback, and it's free software.

Some details on backing up DVDs -- which makes them region free:
