  • Roof bars - help!

    Hi,

I have a 1999 surf with tracks that only run for the back half of the roof. I am trying to find bars that fit but all the fitting guides (thule and prorack)show the 1999 surf with roof rails for the full length.

Can anybody point me to which makes/models/part numbers I need to fit roof bars?

Also are the half length tracks on the surf long enough to fit roof boxes/Bike racks etc on? or do I need a another bar at the front of the roof which will mean drilling the roof

    Thanks!

These ones are Thule roof bars, which show a roof box fitted to a 3rd Gen.

    http://www.thule.co.uk/appguide/your...=&tSP=&tLocks=

& this is Thule website indicating the part numbers required for a 3rd Gen Surf.
