  • Xenon headlight conversion

Right the old man wants brighter lights in LURCH's old surf (a LN130).
Is there a conversion kit available in the UK ?If not where should i look? Has anyone done it ? How easy is it? and was it worth it?

upgrade the loom and if necessary use 100w/80w bulbs, the difference is phenomenal and it'll only cost you £30-£40 tops including bulbs.

Even just doing the loom and using normal 55/60w bulbs makes a substantial difference

Do you mean just new bulbs? or a HID conversion

        New bulbs

These come highly recommended, I'm using them and the dippped beam is very good

        HID

Maybe this kit, although I have not tried it myself and I think strickly speaking all HID kits are not road legal because they don't self level?????

I have off-road halogens in mine, 90w low beam and 130w high beam.Been in for the lsat 2 MOT's and caused no problems. haven't done anything to the loom either. just a pair of H4 bulbs from my local parts shop. cost me £10
Also have a second pair off 100w spots that come on with the high beam although i did wire them thru a separate relay and they work fine too.

Have just got some chrome fogs with "angel Eyes" from roughtrax to go on but i'm having some difficulty fitting them as they are very deep but look the dogs gonads.Pics will be posted when eventually fitted

          Cheers

Will the xenon bulbs kill the lenses and reflectors......or do they need to be upgraded/replaced.......or is there a kit that does the lot . I know that some one bought the lot from ebay worldwide, but cannot remember who

Just looked over the autobulbs direct pages and there is no mention of having to change reflectors or lenses
Mine have been ok with all the heat generated and it keeps the ice off, only downside is when they get splashed with muddy water they tend to dry almost instantly

Woodzie, did you read my link mate? (Or is the price a no no?)

                    According to this

                    http://www.hids4u.co.uk/store/produc...&cat=15&page=1

no mods to lens, reflectors are needed. (I take it our bulbs are H4's?)
