    I found this and thought it was worth a look by you guys, only in America could they get pi$$y about getting oil for fuel when only 3% of they energy reserves is in oil and 95% of it is in coal. When they figure this out they will be onto a winner!

    I think the germans were doing this in later stages of the second world war... they no access to crude so their chemists did the coal thing... if they did start to use this process i wonder how long their reserves would last...

      Donkey's years ago, the landscape west of Edinburgh towards Bathgate was altered dramatically when they dug out and extracted oil from shale. It was said that these efforts provided enough fuel for the whole of the British Navy. I would reckon that we have the ways and means to extract deposits that were not viable in the old days and we could all go off-roading on the resulting 'bings'.
      Always in the sh1t. Only the depth ever changes.
