if the manual gearbox needs adjusting aswell i will have to leave it as i dont know any garages around darlington that would be competent to make the body lift and massage the gearbox.
if anyone can reccommend anyone near darlington to do the job please let me know, but for now i will get +2" springs fitted and get the torsion bar adjusted

Why a body lift all it will give you is a taller less stable truck unless you go for bigger tyres to increase the clearance. If you just like the look of a lift do a suspension lift first +2" springs and wind the tor bars up = 2" lift for £70

like i said in my last post that is what im going to do, how easy is it to do the torsion bars ? do you just take them out and turn them ? does the exhaust need to come off ? can i use the standard jack to take the weight off 1 wheel at a time to adjust the torsion bars ??????????? any how to's ??

other way round, suspension lift will make the truck feel less stable than a bodylift because with a suspension lift you raise the trucks centre of gravity.

Just jack the truck up so both front wheels are off the ground - About 2ft back is a bolt - just tighten it about 10 full turns, should be about enough - Im sure someone will post up a decent pic but its not hard an is about a 10 minute job.

                    Foolish man.

A body lift raises the center of gravity as well, body work and interier are pushing 40-45% of your trucks weight. All this whilst still running on stock suspension means you'll notice the extra height of a 2" body lift when going round corners.

A Proper suspension lift spring rates and shocks are matched to new C of G of the truck, and allows for the extra height of the truck and its momentum when cornering.

Body lifts are a budget way of lifting the truck, and should be treated as such.

                          Its a sore subject!!

Linda wants it gone, a bloke down the road wants to swap it for a Caterham 7 once its all fixed but I've not had time yet.

I was supposed to be doing it over xmas, once finished the last of the jobs for others, but still seem to be doing work for peoples trucks that are here!!!

Everyone please stop ringing me, I have trouble saying no to Surfs in trouble and try and squeese them in, then get in trouble with the boss cos we havn't started on the house extension, or finished the horse lorry, or got shot of all the project trucks that I've started!!!!
