which brake fluid?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to top up my brake fluid on my 2.4 92 surf. I don't want to buy anymore, but just found some castrol dot 4 synthetic brake fluid. Will that do the job? Want to do it right, I'm selling the surf and want it to be bang and topped up for viewers.

i was told that dot 4 has replaced dot 3, you can still get dot 3 from kevin coopers by the octagon, union street. Not sure about mixing the two but it should be safe to uses dot 4 instead of dot 3. i found that i needed to replace my break pads instead of top up fluid once i did it was fine. they are pretty cheap from roughtrax.

Kind of worried now, I got a tip off for dot 4, and just put some in, don't know if it was dot 3 or 4 in there before!! Hope it's cool. You're in Plymouth? I grew up there, moved away just 5 months ago. You know anyone wanting to buy a surf? SSR-G! Ebay number 150200600479. It's a great vehicle, but just may have mixed brake fluid...lol.
