mine has that exact same wood but may be mine is a little darker, and it runs the whole way round, and has three spokes, with holes in them.
and the wooden bit comes out from the outside to meed the metal
its on this site
and here is a pic of the same wheel but with slits instead of holes.
im too pished to find the correct one
