i had hard drive troubles,so replaced the hard drive and a reinstall.and you say it only takes five minutes thats as long as it takes me to do an engine swop.

Yeah, but I don't have to strip my builds back down every so oft to repair them.
is it just me or does it really take allday to $$$$$$ update an old computer.
In answer to your original question, yes it does. I had to replace a HD on mine earlier this year as both it and the PC World replacement failed (within a week), so I had to re-format twice, as well as trying to save as much of the old data as possible. The re-install of XP and the rest of my software took up most of the day each time.
