called tiscali today, because when i ordered it, i asked if they have a ethernet "router" instead of a usb one to which they said no problem. but it still was delivered with a usb "modem/router"
this means that every time i turn on the pc i get a new IP address = bad if im trying to connect from somwhere else to the home pc.
plus internet through a usb port is pretty cr@p to start with.
so, first call i was put on hold while the nice indian fellow dealt with it-- about 3 mins later i realised i had been cut off.
second call, i got through to someone new and i was told they dont do a ethernet router!!! after him asking me why i wanted one anyway (what happened to customers always right? especially since i asked if they did one and they said yes and its no problem)
so i told him why i wanted one, and i was put back on hold... then he came back and said they are sending me an ethernet one
now i can have my netgear firewall router plugged in, and play xbox without having to turn on the pc
and as long as i dont turn off the ethernet router, i will keep my ip address too
