once you have engaged four wheel drive how fast can you go, or is it just the same as two wheel drive.

Use it when necessary any prolonged use on tarmac isn't good at speed.

They need the slip onthe off roar terrain to stop the transmission going tits up. Well that's for the old ones I don't know about the newer versions. Someone more qualified than me will be here in a tick.
