lol, this post is still going! Excellent

Well I've been on my first green laning experience on the 6th Jan with a couple of guys from HiluxSurf.co.uk around the Dorking Area. Was a very good day out.

The adrenalin has almost all worn off now so I'm ready for more mud and scratchy bushes (tarts ) and tricky down and uphill’s!

      How's up for it?

I'm more than happy to go around Dorking again or if there is any kind person out there that knows Pilgrims way near Maidstone well that could also work well.

I've also got an updated OS map of Kent and I've spotted a couple of small lanes that I'd love to explore... only I don't want to go alone and get stuck.

Anyone up for a recky/exploratory drive this weekend?

I can't do this weekend, too much stuff to do, and currently no offroad insurance, although the green beast is still insured so i guess i could take her for a final run if i had the time, you'd just have to stop and wait for me every few minutes plus i think i'd go mad by the end of the day with her incessant whining

Kent offroad club do have something on though if you wanna get out. http://kentoffroadclub.proboards25.c...e=1#1201036612 you'll have to register to get on there, but it's free.

I'll be looking to organise something probably around the end of february, beginning of march time now.

So when is everyone thinking of going for it?

I only have road tires no muds or semis yet!

I think you'll be surprised where those tyres will take you mate. I have road tyres and I've not been stuck once! I've seen a landy (sorry for swearing) get stuck the last time I was out and that was almost on wet grass and a bit of mud. Didn't even need a tow or winch, just pushed him out... (he couldn't drive either if I must be honest)

As for scratchy stuff, well I hate to be the one to tell you this but most greenlanes will cause a bit of scratchyness!

A mate of mine has a Mitsu L200 and we're just waiting for him to run it for 500 miles and another service and we'll be heading down Dorking if you'd like to join us but there are some parts that are scratchy... not too bad, bit of polish will sort that out. Will be in a couple of weeks though.

Hows saturday 8 March sitting with people? I know it's a few weeks off yet, but i would prefer to wait a few weeks til the lanes start to dry out a bit, and i just got booked up for the 1st.

dorking is round the M25 a bit somewhere, SW corner of the M25 i think.

I wasn't looking at going that far afield basically coz i don't know any lanes up that way so i'll leave it for someone who does know them to invite us all up that way sometime.

I'm thinking either north/west kent meeting around wrotham or my preferred option is south east kent meeting either ashford or folkestone somewhere and investigate around that area i've got a few lanes marked up in both areas just need to check what's open and what's not.

The 8th is good for me! I dont mind where we go, down Ashford way is fine with me if that is where you know.
I am going on a 2 day Lantra professional drivers 4x4 course on the 5th and 6th at Malvern, so I will be able to show off my new found ability! (hopefully)
                          Ebay search item 230357761354 !

Ashford way would be better for me, its a lot nearer.

I have never driven a 4x4 off road only 2wd off road, so all the tips and help will be most welcome.
