  • rear box on 2.4

Hi, all, what should i be looking to pay for the rear box for my surf from a garage? (if i can find one that can get the exhaust that is!) if not, are the ones on ebay any good, and are they easy to fit? just when we thought we would make it to the end of the year without something else cocking up on the surf!

Why not go for a fabbed side exit instead, cheaper, no fumes i truck when driving with rear window down and better entry/ exit angles off road.

Agree, i did that its cheap looks better, better off road, sounds better not really louder at all, and as ant says fumes are better vacated from your snitch.

all good reasons.. my solid system exits just behind rear mud flap, bit of cutting and bending, no fumes in back window.
every vehicle i have owned has had a flexi exhaust at some point!!

Andy you don't have a template drawing for the bends on that hard pipe side exit?

No sorry. I bought a couple of bends and a metre of straight pipe from Jetex (good quality, thick pipe) and got under the truck, juggling and clamping till it was about right, then got it welded up. I cut the flange off the remains off the old exhaust and got that welded on.

                          It's pretty straighforward really.
