y is the 2.4 better?
ive got a 2.4 2nd gen and i want to up grade to a 3rd gen just like antshild. i have got his old surf she is my baby.

Well, in reality the 2.4 probably isnt better then the 3.0ltr.
Its slower, drinks the same amount of juice.... Cost aint much different nowadays...
Im just tryin to 'up' the 2.4s reputation

the 2.4 isnt exactly slow.... i havent floored it in ages, an i only put the ECT button on the other day because i spotted it.. havent really needed any more oomph - but would love the V8 just because i want it....

The chances of me coming up against “Bushwhacker” (or any other V8 transplanted Surf) is very remote….. so I’m quite safe in the knowledge that I can leave any other Surf behind at the lights
And NO I’m not going to remove my “V6” badges in favour of those from some lesser model

i think the 3rd gen has got about 140 bhp. that is a guess tho. antshiel u do no me u prat!!!! my 2.4 is slow but there not built for speed. just look at what u do off roading!!!!! o yes!
