going to work this morning and tyre went down rather quick
ended up it being taken to tyre fitters for puncture repair
fellah said it is fubarred it has seperated , ??? me says , when i compare tyres the others was flat across the tread where as the damaged one uneven across the tread
hate to think of what would have happened if it had gone on the motorway
    [front passenger wheel]
no the bloke was not trying to sell a tyre to me as he is a friend of the mechanic at work
he would not even try to fix as it would be to dangerous
have taken the others off and put my machos back on truck
Only Toyota can get you out of shite

Don't bin the rest yet, its just one dodgy tyre, I've had a BFG A/T do that in the past, it didn't go flat, but the tread part lifted in one place so the tyre was faintly oval shaped and was causing vibrations.

      Its called delamination.

Offroading is tough on tyres, the way you drive offroad is even harder. Suck it up or stay on the road.

I'd much rather trust a Kumho than the Macho's if your worried about safety on the road!!!

My M/T Kumho's that I took of the 4Runner are 4 years old, endless offroading and about 20,000 road miles and are wearing just great.

These tyres are only just over a year (and about 10k miles) old and have only seen laning and no mental 'Offroad Centre' type use, so it would be mad to get rid. As you infer, Kumho make a good tyre and it's almost certainly a one off. The tread is barely touched, so a new one will go ok with them when the little bobbles have worn off!

Sooooo.... you'd rather trust a tyre thats already done 60'000 miles, been reheated in a chinese factory and had some more rubber stuck on with some chinese PVA over a brand new tyre?

              O...... K......

Could you not get in touch with them and see if they will send you a replacement or maybe some money off another?

If you only do 50 miles a year, Captain Sloooow!

Seriously though, I dont think ONE tyre going bad is statistically significant, and I would certainly use Kumhos in the future.

Doesn't matter, i'm sure they wouldn't be pleased to know their tyres are delaminating and creating unhappy dangerous situations. Give it a go see what they say.
My misses does it all the time.
                          Not with tyres though.

What you basing this on? Linda's old 4 year old 31" BFG's have 30,000 miles + on them the 33's are up to 15,000mile and 2 years now, my Kumho M/T's as posted above. This is all with hard offroading, air down and abused, etc... I've got a pile of Bronco and others makes of remolds behind the garage that have come off trucks that are lumpy, loud and rough driving. but not that old.

IMHO, new tyres every time. Sure you'll get duff ones, but generally they are more reliable.
