    http://www.transaction-2007.com/

The following statement is released on 10th December 2007 at 10:15Hrs

Transaction2007 have decided to release the date and time of protest action earlier than scheduled. This is to enable the motorist and public to better prepare themselves for the coming action.

A date of Saturday 15th December 2007 at 10:00am has been decided for protest action. This date was decided by members as the best possible to enable those who would normally be working during the week to attend. This action will be initiated at a refinery or storage depot somewhere near you. Anyone wishing to support action is requested to make your way there at the allotted time. Transaction again wish to emphasise the importance of legal protesting.

I suspect there will be a protest 1/4 mile form where I'll be working on Saturday. Amusing thing is closer to the refinery you get, the higher the fuel prices, go figure.

Protesting at refineries is only a means to gain publicity, it's your MPs you need to lobby. The price of fuel in the UK has absolutely nothing to do with the oil companies, they will be lucky to pick up 2 or 3ppl. The rest is transport costs, dealer margins and duty. Remember the duty is only a part of the money the government gets, they get VAT on the other elements too.

If the oil companies decided not to charge for fuel, you'd not notice it. Fuel local to me has gone up by about 6ppl everywhere. BP, who produce all of the fuel sold around here, aren't charging an extra 6ppl. So why blame them?

Again, that's usually dealer margins, taking advantage of their location. All franchised dealers pay the same for their fuel.

It's not really them either, it's our elected representatives in parliament that are to blame.

I understand that none of the above are to blame but actions speak louder than words surely, your local mp isnt going to look twice at any partition or letter. Whats the answer

The 'powers that be' and the public at large never listen to reasoned argument, only rocking the boat and people getting hurt makes them listen.

Very very sad, but proven time and time again. Its a human thing.

This government, and others before them, bleat on about global warming and the detrimental effect of CO2. Then under the guise of 'climate change' slap inflation plus rises onto fuel duty in order to 'meet its targets of reducing polluting emissions'. This doesn't stop people using their vehicles and the government knows it! Fair enough some might say. Yet they continue to increase the rates of duty on green fuels.
Nothing green about that! And if everyone switched to using biofuels and LPG tomorrow, what do you think would happen to the duty on them??

Yes they will now allow you to use up to 2500 litres of vegetable oils as a fuel before duty, but if you buy it as biofuel at the pump rather than make it yourself or use it straight, you pay 30.35p per litre in duty for the priviledge. that's a great incentive.
It's just an excuse to raise more revenue to swell the treasury coffers.

There are many issues in this country that the public are sick to the back teeth of, you just have to read forums and listen to conversations. Much debating but little, if any, action.

The frogs over in Franceland seem to manage to get what they want whenever they have a mass protest.
Maybe, as usual, the british should roll over and take it up the tail pipe
