  • import duty from hong kong

    any idea if i have to pay import duty on items from Hong Kong??

    i know it's not EU, but it was owned by us a while back!!

    (and how much will it be for an item worth £289.98)

    Hi as far as i know outside the EU you pay duty on all imported items its usually 10% import duty and vat on top of that at 17.5%.

      It depends on how nice the sender is. I've just imported a couple of things both worth around $30

          Mine usually have toy parts stammed with gift or something. It's a bit of a risk because the postman collects the duty!
