My stereo has cr*p reception. I,ve noticed a few posts from members fitting new systems and thought i,d have a go.
I would like to fit a reasonable unit with cd and a usb/aux port to use a memory stick.(sorry if i've got the terminology wrong) I dont want to shatter windows but I will need to change some of the speakers as they have blown.
Also do you all use the original electric arial or change it because my radio reception is terrible. It may just be the stereo.
So to re-cap , I have about £150-200. and need a shopping list for a good system and speakers.
    I thank you

    Hello mate!

As you have probably seen ive just redone the audio in my truck!!

    http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/4840.html

That cd player has a length of cable that comes out the back for connection to any USB device. The cable reaches into the glove box perfectly an has enough length on it to be easily re-routed to most 'storage' locations in the dash (obviously somewhere to put the usb thing!)

    speakers,

I dont know how these sound but for £50 should be pretty good!!

Same make, larger size for the rear

Comes in a bit over £200 but should be pretty good!!

the sub in my truck is infinity an its got some balls!

www.caraudiosecurity.com seem to be one of the best places to order from!

The cd player ive listed was in my local Halfords for £299!!! So, speaks volumes mate.

      Thanks Rod

Great list, thanks for taking time on that. Did you change your aerial or use the original electric one?

        No worries mate!!

Ive still got the electric aerial.... BUT mine dont work.. its always in the up position.

But, That cd player has a blue wire hanging out the back that gets connected up to the motor so as soon as the cd player is on the aerial comes up.

The wiring diagrams are fairly comprehensive with kenwood cd players from my experiance at least.

So, In theory at least you can use the stock aerial an motor etc.

Had a Kenwood unit before until some arsewipe ripped it and half my dash out of my transit. It was pi**ing with rain and in my rush to get under cover I left the face on. Ten minutes later, no 1/4 light, no stereo.
But up until then I was very pleased with it.

they also have a ebay shop http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZrick355s where they list some stuff cheaper than on their main site, i emailed them through the main site to check that the ebay seller was actually them and not just using their name and images.

I also have $$$$ reception (of radio 2 only lol) I figued it was due to a rubbish Headunit.... I have an expander but in all honesty I just want a decent head unit!!!

Saving for one of these http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/4659.html with the Bluetooth add on. Also after some dencent speakers and a 4 Channel amp... and maybe a sub and amp if the setup still lacks "oomph"

              But I'm skint lol
              More Lift.
              More Tyres.
              More Engine.

fitted these to me fronts as direct replacement http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...7982&doy=26m11
had to chop one of the tangs of each speaker to fit perfect so attached with only 3 scews, originals only had 2 screws and thru a cheapo kenwood head unit of about £50 they sound very well for a £5.
