    The concensus seems to be;

    Booze is cheap
    fags are cheap
    diesel is cheap
    bogs are cheap



    tyres are not cheap.


    I think that covers it.

      I know tyre regulations are stricter in Germany, eg tread depth etc. not sure about other countries on the continent though. Certainly in Germany the minimum tread depth is something like 3mm compared to our 1.6mm, they also have some funny laws about having to replace tyres in pairs, and the restrictions on tyre repairs are stricter. Most of the part worns that are sold over here are imported from germany, as they aren't upto their standards, but are still ok for ours.

      I would guess that tyres are probably more expensive over there because of all the above, but don't know if it's just a german thing or europe wide.

            I don't think French cuisine relies on svo much, I think they cook everything in wine, even the chips.

            Any chefs out there to confirm??
