  • Front BRONZE bush change

OK - I've looked and can't find much info - forum ain't playing tonight either.

I changed the wheel bearings last week so I'm up to speed on whipping the thing apart.

Tomorrow I'll be changing the bronze bushes. Is there anything in particular I need to look out for? Will I need to remove the hub from the suspension arms?

I've always been able to pull the drive shafts through the arms when changing cv boots so haven't had to pull the hub off yet.

    Thanks.

Its easy yes you do have to take the hub off. Undo all the bolts in the hub but dont take the nuts completely off. Then screw two 10mm bolts through the holes in the front this will ping the washers out. If you take the nuts off they will ping over your shoulder into oblivion and you will never see them again. when they are all pinged off undo the nuts with your fingers and pull the hub off. Then you can drift the back one out from the front and the front out from the back.

I'd rather we cut holes BEFORE the Nags!

Could combine it with a visit to Clee Hill. Its a blast up there! Did you see the pics in the thread?

Yup - couldn't believe the snow - we didn't have a single flake.

OK on the cooler - I'll be in touch soon.

                OK....

It is take the whole hub off

take the hub cap off , undo the circlip , disconect the wisbone ball joints and trackrod endpull off hub ( note brake caliper should have been removed first)

disconect brake disc and wheel bearings from hub

if that seal has gone it will be quicker to get it from toyota

Then i got a big brass drift and beat them out

I think we got cross wires I was on about the 6 or maybe 8 can't remember m10s that hold the hub together.
