  • dab Radio

Anyone had any experience with dab radios. Any problems with reception, types of ariel and how to fit them to a third Gen Surf etc. I fear screen mounted antena might attract scumbags by advertising the fact you have a dab radio. Appreciate any advice.

The most basic antenna for a car is 1/4 wave ground plane. If you could get a cheap'ish aerial and cut it down to 315mm it would be spot on for DAB reception. What about a little magnetic mount antenna? A lot of the web sites selling ham radio stuff do a mini mag, which has a base of only about 1 1/4". When you are not using the radio you could stash it out of site inside the truck.
    It's only a hobby!

      Radio Aerials

These are a couple of mounting options for your aerials.
You can get magnetic mount for the roof or you can roo/bull bar mount the aerial.
If you roo/bull bar mount your aerial you can get a quick connect fitting so you can take the aerial off when your not using it. (havent got a pic of one sorry mate).
