A friend comes from Cambletown and introduced me to Springbank, which is distilled there, she now spoils me and treats me to a bottle whenever she goes home

Jeez, you sound just like me in the whisky department, but my fave is bruichladdich with laphroaig a close second
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy

Jura is an island to the north east of Islay, they only produce the one malt. Probably grouped as an Islay malt for classification purposes.

Haven't been to Islay yet. My sister used to live on Arran. From the top of Goat Fell you could look over The Mull of Kintyre and see Islay - so close, and yet so far (well, two ferry crossings actually) lol.

This is the entrance to the Jameson Distillery, Midleton - a small town to the east of Cork. The shop in Dublin is just that.

Technically you are correct. The new distillery is off limits. The old distillery has been coverted into a superb attraction. And you get a tasting session at the end of the tour. Awesome day.

I got home from work one day to find my (now ex) wife adding lemonade to one of my malts. OMG.

I've cut back on them now - just way too nice. Although I've always got some Laphroaig open.

We could form a club. Even got a dog named after Caol Ila so it's a good excuse to keep buying a bottle - currently guarding a very nice cask strength

                Hey Roger,

That's a very good idea. I've got a book of all the distilleries in Scotland, set out in a series of motor tours. Can you imagine.........

Mind you, the amount of shyte spouted by any of us who drank Woodzies fizzy vodka at the May Welsh run would make you think twice about setting up this club LMAO.

At this point i'd like to interject and say that i hate whisky. After i drank a bottle in three goes at the age of 15 at a party, the smell of it reminds me of lying in the back of that ambulance!!

However my dad and brother love the stuff! so much so that my dad has a hogshead (250litres) of Laphroig somewhere in Scotland. He just can'tbe arsed to do anything with it!

                          Anyone fancy a surftrain?
Just trying to raise my postcount!
