  • My truck dumped oil today

she's leaking, I think it may be rear of head gasket, she's got oil pressure when topped up and temp is fine.
could it be a feed pipe for turbo or something similar.

from underneath it looks as though oil is appearing from back of engine on passenger side up past bell housing.

rocker cover gasket or rear crankshaft oil seal at a guess, the first should be fairly easy for you guys to sort, you seem a mechanical sort of pair. Someone will correct me if i'm wrong but i think the 2nd is pretty involved.

bugger! i think it's the latter.

rocker gasket has a wee bit of oil around the back but I'll need to investigate further.
Knowing my luck the oil seal will be gone.

The rear crankshaft oil seal won't be above the gearbox,

when its light ,get underneath and put your hand up between the bell housing and engine,if its wet with oil its the rear crankshaft oil seal.
its quite a big job to replace, you can do it withtwo of you though,as it is a gearbox out job.

                          aye it is.

dya think it's washing fuel down over engine.

stuff landing on road is really black though, looks like oil.
