  • dubious to use veg oil HELP please

    hi there
read lots of posts about using veg oil but still not sure.
    so to clarify,

    1. go to my local Tesco's.
    2. purchase X amount of vegtible oil.
    3. pour it straight into my fuel tank with an equivalent amount of diesel.
    4. drive around the land costing half as much.

do i need any special gadgets or gizmoes to to this.
    many thanks

    Veg Oil

Find the cheapest Veg oil and start by mixing perhaps 20-30% with diesel and perhaps build up to 50% in winter, depends where you are. I think every engine reacts slightly differently, so its a bit of trial and error, but as the mornings could start to get colder, you would need to use less veg oil. I have 3rd gen and using about 80% veg oil still, without any starting problems. Also make sure you have a spare fuel filter, as its possible the veg oil can pick up crud from bottom of tank.
There are many threads on here re veg oil use.
