20ltr of veg and 20lrt of derv would be fine the now if you want add 1ltr of spirit to you 20ltr veg first as the weather gets colder drop to a 3 to 1 mix ie 30ltr derv 10ltr veg and you should be fine

I personally run a 50 50 mix veg and derv almost all year round with no pre heater or twin tank or white sprit

Yoshie - When do you drop the Veg/Derv ratio?

As the temp drops in winter you will now if it runs lump for the first few mins in the morning then its time to drop mix as it warms in spring increase again I've ran 80% veg in the summer with no mods.
Buy a fuel filter and keep handed as the veg cleans the system I havent had to but others required a fuel filter change a few months after adding veg
By the way Bookers in Falkirk 20ltr veg for £10.85

If no w/s available at any point, use same ratio of unleaded, as it may be cheaper than some shops, and the emissions are lower with it too

Another potential issue with using white spirit is that duty is payable on it if you use it as fuel. With this current crackdown, they could screw you...

Unleaded has the duty already paid.

Isnt it just classed as an additive if less than 5% of volume?

Not 100% sure about that, perhaps a site grown up will tell us?

I thought the volume had to be much less than that to be classed as an additive. Less than 0.5% was the figure I had in mind.

All users who get through less than 2500liters of veg a year have just been de registered on duty to be paid. There is a thread on here some where here is a copy of the letter.

Suppose the white spirit is a fuel substitute? See, told you a grown up would know...
