  • Banned!

Hi all, called into my local petrol station today and was told not to use the carwash again because my truck was too dirty!! Have they started only letting people with clean, shiney cars use the carwash? Seeing some of your Surfs on here mine was practically spotless! I have now taken my dirty truck and my account elsewhere.

I would carry on using it! It's a car wash.
If they are banning you from using the facility for what it's designed for, then I would complain to the council or the garage owners.

I've never had an insue with being banned from a car wash and I've gotten my truck very dirty on many occasions. I got turned away from one of these car park people who employ below-minimum-wage-illeagal-immigrant-slaves to wash your car fully by hand for £5.

Some jet washes recycle the water to a degree, a seriously muddy truck will clog the filters, its also why you not supposed to clean the engine at a jet wash, oil dosn't look good on the next guys car.

Or they could just be fed up of clearing mud and poo from out of the drains, I would if I worked where I clean my truck (on the odd occasion it get washed)

I usually hand wash the top of the truck at home, then take it down there to get all the cack off the underneath and it dosn't look so bad.

In your case Jax, you'll probably find someone is taking their memo from head office to seriously.

If thats the case, car wash users are just paying 'parking fees' then

your not the only one being banned, at our local TOTAL garage the workers have said they are going to put a sign up saying no 4x4's are allowed to use the jetwash anymore,
we are still going to use it and tell the little hitlers to shove it if they dont like it,

I haven't been turned away yet, there used to be a sign at tesco that said no offroad or agricultural vehicles - i followed a van in last time i used it, he parked between the shields and proceeded to unload two motox bikes from the back of the van, wash them down then jetwash the inside of the van and load them back up again.

Have noticed it's often 'out of order' for a few days each month after the local pay & play

I was also baned from my local car wash due to "excessive mud"
Mind you there was a good 3-4 inches of mud on the ground around and under the truck which made me chuckle when al the clean dirty cars came along!

Yet more 4x4 discrimination. If there is a sign saying NO 4X4`s, then I would question why 4x4`s? Cars also get muddy, just check out the jet wash next to a busy caravan park after heavy rain.
You should ask them to change the sign to No Muddy Vehicles.
