I'm interested in anyones experience with the attitude of Insurance Companies towards modifications, particularly raising suspension. Also does this have any detrimental effect on on road handling. I currently have a Gen 2 3.0L but take delivery of a 3rd Gen in the next few weeks.

Hi - I have the same truck with about 5" lift and 33's, snorkel, rear locker, and run on partial veg. None of the above have altered my premium at all. I'm with A-Plan. Tony's 4-runner has a similar amount of lift, a winch bumper, etc and again - no increased premium. He's with Adrian FLux - they did need us to fill in a form regarding fitting.

Thanks for that. I go through the normal pain every year change insurers. You get a good price then the price is hiked up the following year. I'll try A-Plan and Adrian Flux next time its due.

I've been with A-plan for the past two years, the year before that it was Adrian Flux.
I do find with most insurers they get either paniky or don't understand when you say imported modified vehicle, one even asked how much I'd lowered it, cause thats what they all do sir.
