Well my stoopid question about winches is...
Do u need a 12v or 24v winch? Surely a 12v will do the same job on a surf as it runs off only 1 battery?

12, the whole surf system is 12v, the batteries are wired in parralel so you will only ever have 12v (well 14.4ish for the pedants) across any of the circuits in the surf.
