picked up my surf yesterday.... what a motor.... however the temp gauge is reading high most of the time. I aint much of a mechanic but did notice that the radiator is hot at the top on the right hand side but the rest of it stays pretty cool, almost as if its not being used.
could this be a jammed thermostat? if it is can i take it out and run without one??

apart from that we are very impressed with it.

sounds like a blocked rad, you could disconnect the top and bottom hoses and flush thru from top to bottom and bottom to top with a garden hose on full, this will mean you'll be doing a full coolant drain flush and refill on the whole system. Thats what you should be doing with an import in any case.
