Fuel Additives

Hi all,

Just a quicky, has anyone used or does anyone use on a regular basis Reddex or anyother fuel additive, and if so does it work well or is it a waste of £6

Used redex when i first got the surf as it was really sluggish, it made it slightly better, started up first time as opposed to 2-3 goes before, now use a lt of auto trans fluid now and again, thats quite good

put redex in about every 3rd tank,not the 6 quid bottle , but the 1.50 "shot",and it works well.if you disconnect the egr and run a load of redex throught the system ,by heck it clears you right out!

Wilkinsons do it for nearly half the price and they have had 100% extra free bottles too.

I was thinking of it as a form of preventative maintainance, so dont really want to play with EGR, the general concensus seems positive tho?

That said do I HAVE to remove EGR valve before running reddex?

What ?? ...you put this in your tank
What does that do then ?

I put a litre in the tank to help stem the fuel pump leak, as it is said to rejuvenate the seals ( on a temp basis)

ATF will clean out the system as ell as redex, and is half the price.

Comma Diesel D-tox or Comma Diesel Magic

I know this is an old thread but I'll give it a go any way.

Has anyone used Comma Diesel D-tox(£15.00) or Comma Diesel Magic(£6.00)? Share your thoughts please. How those compare against each other or against Redex? Or may be all of them are marketing rip offs and any ATF would do the same job.

I read different opinions here some say additives should go in the filter so it goes directly in the injectors, others say - in the fuel tank so it cleans the whole fuel system??? Now, where should it go?

I will be driving more than 1000 miles next week so it will be a good chance to rev the engine and flush some additives through it.

When ya change ya Fuel filter fill it with Atf n half a litre to 1/4 tank of derv/Svo ....

There's always a Payback .... Ya just never see it Comin !!!!
