cap and stat

my thermostat and rad cap just arrived(minus a stat housing gasket grrrr)

is it accepatable to use some liquid gasket or do i need to make one?

The gasket is a rubber seal which fits around the thermostat flange inside the housing. If you are lucky you will be able to use the old one. Do not use any other gasket.

I used the one from the old stat it was ok and not in bad condition!!

i have the old gasket and it is still good,will use that.
another job bites the dust.

oil change
and a bit of bumper bracket grinding and im done!!!
