following on from my post about my auxillary fan messing around, what it seems to be doing is the opposite of what its meant to, when the engine is cold it is running, as soon as the engine is up to temperature it is shutting off,
what the feck is going on.

Did you check/change the sensor switch yet? if you got a breakers near, i'd get a sensor from a corolla and try that,

How you must all have been missing the classic Sancho uninformed speculation....

The fan comes on when the circuit's broken, so maybe there's a slightly loose connection that's expanding and completing the circuit, hence cutting the fan off, once the engine warms up.

Probably the sensor fcked. They cost 50+ quid to replace.

You ought to be careful mate. That makes sense and is quite a good possibility. You'll be ruining your reputation at this rate.

Try and source a Tridon TFS115. It's an aftermarket replacement for the Toyota Switch and a fraction of the price.

Not quite. I have the other five pages of the catalogue as well, if they are any use.

Like i said mate pop along to your local breakers and get one from a corolla, that will sort it out, prob be able to slip it in ya pocket, dont get cheaper than that, i'll get a pic of one without the mud if you like
broken end would account for it comeing on straight away but as for it going off? well could be the wire's touching the block or summat (intermittant) anyhow first step is fit another switch then see how it goes, BTW a corolla one will set the fan going a little earlier than the standard surf one, clicks at 90c as opposed to 98/100c i think, my fan never did come on on it's own till i did the mod, and it topped the 100c mark on more than one occaision,

Nev! yes if you have more pages i'd be interested, you never know when they'll come in handy

cheers for that, problem is now sort of solved, ive fitted a toggle switch on the dash and wired it up to the relay for the fan, now when i am off roading or going up hill i can manually switch the fan on and hey presto it cools right down again,
im getting good at these electrical things now

ok I'll post them in a new topic so just save them to your computer. I'm fairly sure Tridon products are available worldwide.
