  • Diff Oil running down wheel - which seal

    Hello Guys

    I have diff oil running down a rear wheel at stand still, which is the common seal to go?

    Rear hub "O" ring?
    Outer half shaft seal?

    Anyone done this job? and any tips?

    Another job to do Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The o ring comes with the bearing and seal if you get a blueprint kit
    you will need a press and some hot gas and i used a dremmel to grind down the collar to weaken it,oh and becareful not to bend the back plate


    Edit ........best do both as found the one that wasn't leaking was in a bad way too , Plus get new diff oil

              looks like it they are badly scored ....also have a noisy bearing in the front diff

                Its normally a shagged bearing, because its loose the seal at the outer end of the axle leaks oil. Change them both.

                              Had a over keen MOT tester yesterday, who picked up a noisy bearing so....

                              Doing the other side next week, 1yr and 10 months since posting...............I'm a lazy git
