i use it on cold mornings when the truck is first started to assist with warming the motor up quicker

Only ever used it to when using the truck to jump start another, or using the winch.

Any electrical loads run better on 14.4v - that is one of the reasons it's there.

I use it when running the inverter for short periods, or when using the compressor.

as has already been said, jump starting. Or because i got the twiddly knob instead of the switch, when i'm being lazy in slow moving traffic, motorway queues etc. i wind it up a little and crawl holding the truck back in first gear.

Hmm yes, increasing the volts would be usefull for running hair dryers/curling tongs/straighteners/leg wax heater..........

Warming the car whilst s$$$$ping the windows on a frosty morn, very good
