Just a plug for my "local" dealer.

Had reason to phone their parts dept today and whilst chatting mentioned the reaction that some get to their imports.

He couldnt believe it and suggested those affected contacted them (no, I'm not getting paid for this, not even a discount!).

Apparently, they will even do mail order! (NOW they tell me!)

Sounds like a good dealership, as a lot don't seem to be bothered, My local dealer is pretty good, and quite helpful with parts, but will not even discuss the cost of any work, as it's a grey import ( don't know how they knew it was grey, I never told them)

I went there when I heard about the steering recall, they practically shoo-ed me out of the building and wanted nothing to do with it. It wasn't until I went though Toyota customer help that the work got done at Westover.

there's a recall on some 2nd gen surfs abotu the steering. Phone Toyota customer services on 01737 367600 tell them that you heard about it and give them your chasis number and details, they'll check if you're on the recall list and get back to you. If you are then they arrange for you to go to your nearest toyota dealer and get the work done, all free of charge
