  • Come on now!!! Fuel pump seals

So far, Milners dont stock seals for KZN130, and say it's NOT the same as the late 2.4 fuel pump.

Roughtrax, surprisingly dont have seals for KZN130 either, and dont know if the fuel pump is the same.

Someone MUST know if the seals are the same but I cant get a definitive answer.

Tony? Mark? Woodzie? One of you guys MUST know! The usual places dont seem to know or want to help.

I'm not aware of any difference in the shape of the top cover of the pumps, but not done a leaky pump on a 3.0 yet.

Actually this reminds me, I need pics of 3.0 and 2.4 fuel pumps (or even just look and d tell), of all the trucks I have here 3.0 don't have anything stamped in the top cover, 2.4's seem to have 'Denso' cast in to the lid, just in front of the big sensor.

The reason is I have a 3.0 here that has mystery non-starting illlness, and I want to rule out that some dumbass garage has fitted a 2.4 pump by mistake.

Andy i have no idea about the 3ltrs .........But if it's leaking that bad it may be a visit to a diesel specialist for the pump . Some seals contain the timing and if it is opened it will need to be retimed .

Is it not the same as the 3.0 4Runner?

If so then Toyota dealers should stock them, or is that too obvious?

Vince, I would *think* it's the same as the 4Runner, but I'm allergic to main dealers.

Woodzie, it's not leaking too bad now I've gone back to Derv, but obviously I want to replace them at some time.

If you find out very soon, let me know? You're welcome to have a look at mine / take pictures if I know we can get it back together again no worse than it is now!

                  See if these are any use, some take a while to connect;

The china-hanji plant are the people who make the fuel pumps for toyota.

                    Andy, from the EPC:

                    and

If i've got the right part in the first pic, the 'Gasket, Governor Cover' numbered 22774 half way down on the left hand side of the first pic. they do appear to be the same on the the 3.0 engine (1KZT) and 2.4 (2L#).

The early 2.4s at the top of the second pic show up a different part number, but show the substitute part number (2nd line down) the same as the part number for the 3.0s (3rd line), and late 2.4s (bottom line).

                    Hope this helps.

Nero, that does appear to suggest that the KZN130, and the later LN models with the electronic fuel pump timing do indeed share the same fuel pump and seals.

Wonder why ROUGHTRAX and MILNERS dont know this?

Can anyone confirm or deny this so I dont make any mistakes?

Yours is a pre-face lift isn't it? Dont they have mechanically timed pumps? If so, they're different.

                          The 2nd gen 3.0 model number is KZN130, the 2.4 is LN130. (3rd gen is KZN185)

Yep, mine is the mech pump, what I was after is your engine code, ie is it the 2LTE??, or is it a 3LTE?
