Had a drive of both types this evening, and although they both have 427ci engines, the Shelby has about 7bhp more and a lower final drive ratio.
The AC sounds nicer and has a much better gearing. I was able to get it up to 173mph where as the Shelby topped out at 152mph because of the gearing but it felt like it had a lot more to give. Both are 4 speed.
Also, the Shelby was a real handful just pulling away gently I couldn't stop it lighting up the rear tyres, I think would benefit from traction control.
So for everyday driving, I would have the AC Cobra, better gearing, nicer sounding and the steering wheel is on the right side.
