All head probs seem to aflict the 2.4td, so naturally I am looking for a 3.0L td,
But have been informed by a good friend that his friends 3.0L td surf had a cracked head, also rang a trader recently about a 3.0L td surf and he told me after much persuasion that he had just had the cracked head replaced.
Perhaps not just a problem with the 2.4td after all, or were these motors cooked.
Have a qualified mechanic check your prospective new purchase out properly, ie:- pressure test of cooling system and sniffer test, these will tell if head is cracked or gasket has failed.
If ok and you puschase your dream motor, take out a waranty that will cover head failure, sorted.
