One could say it was a bit silly to take that line if it was that big, couldn't one?
When I get sliders one day, I might get a high lift and make some mounts under the back of the truck. Loads of space there.
All depends on getting a full size spare too I guess...
One wouldn't know. The guy takin us round was in front on foot - directing us - he thought it would clear as it was hidden in the mud. What would you have done?
TBH though, it's hard to see what's going on in puddles as some of us know - slow is good!
Well I know that now - was the first time out and we didn't know what it would clear and what it wouldn't, some of the things we had drove that day I would never have thought it would have got through. Ya trust the leader.....
An we was going slow - he thought if the bash plate cleared the rest would - didn't hink about the next guard.
i would suggest a tool kit compromised of
1. a set of screwdrivers
2. a pair of long nose pliers
3. a pair of slip joint pliers
4.a pair of side cutters
5.a pair of standard mechanics pliers
6.a good utility knife
7.a torch
8.a couple of pairs of 10" adjustable spanners.
9.a set of 1/4,3/8,1/2 socket set
10.a set of metric spanners
11. a multi meter or circuit tester
12.a welders hammer the chipping point on one end comes in very handy.
13 a pry bar or tyre lever
14.and i personally carry a small plastic case of fuses,springs,circlips,bulbs,s elf tapping screws,e clips,electrical insulation tape,small nuts and bolts,roll pins,grease nipples.
Whilst populating my new tool chest today, and sorting my tools out, I have found I have several sets of most tools etc, so I've started making up a toolbox to keep in the truck when offroading (AA can sort it on the road, thats what I pay them for!)
So far, I have a full set of spanners from 6mm to 24mm, an adjustable, a selection of screwdrivers, a set of allen keys 1mm to 10mm, a pair of longnose pliers, a pair of side cutters, a hammer, some insulation tape, a selection of bungees and a ball of string.
What other 'essesntials' would the esteemed readership recommend, including small spares?
I dont want to take the entire contents of the shed, but it would be useful to at least have a chance at fixing if I break stuff!
you saying you used to go offroading with no tools in truck??
