i havnt heard from him yet he is propably still sleeping, poor bugger has not slept for the last 24 hrs.
g,day dudes,
got home at 4 am,(broke down again).it was the same issue with the starter relay earth,(the temp one melted!).i had some "spare " wire after the immobiliser removal, so jerry rigged it (twice).i bought a multi meter at halfrauds this morning(still no sleep),then traced where that earth went, and well i never, it was spliced into one of the returns from the air con rads (gonna trace previous owner and thump him).i think that the earth return was put down there as it soaked up a lot of unexplained energy in the ignition system, and it was a bonded earth, anyhow put a long length down to the chassis and found a drain to earth(which i suppose would explain the battery drain),and the starter relay was not closing fully and leaching a few milliamps back to the ignition switch(i think).any hows went to the breakers near me about 12 ish(still no sleep)
got a new starter relay ( a fiver) and its right as rain.but most importantly
in fact way above anything else is the effort and good humor (and bad wind in woodzies case ) that epitomised the day.the world would be a better place if there were more people like surfenstein, shirlster, woodzie ,bushwacker(and lurch, nice to see you again dude)they unfailingly obliged me fed me,filled me with tea and coffee all
day and performed a minor miracle in lifting the poowagon to new heights.
words cannot express my feelings of gratitude and awe at this massive gesture you all have shown me for "lifting day"(although i have to say to woodzie, next time a major maintainence is planned for anyone, i will be there with an oxygen supply)
cheers fellas(and absolutely shirlster) for giving the poowagon some real street cred
Good to see you again too and mark and shirley, i see woodzie nearly every day so it was not so good to see you.
(Wish i had my truck cos it would have been down marks by now too )

Hey Graham, nice to meet you, glad you finally got home, but 4am? sheesh!
I got home at 1:45am and boy did I have fun driving home, the kind of roads the Celica was made for!
I kept looking at those air-con wires hanging down and thought, "nah, they wouldn't have anything to do with starting the engine!!!!!!!" I should have connected them back up and you would have been home by 10pm!
Kick the previous owner in the nuts for me too.
