Why is it the simple jobs on a surf are never simple?! take brake pads, how $$$$$$ hard are they to bleed! did the pads last saturday, took til last night to get them back to normal. But the atf change, which we have been putting off for ages, piece of piddle!!! do not get these vehicles at all, still, good fun to drive when hubbies at work out of the way!!

Whenever you replace pads they will feel a bit " vague" for a while, Thats because your disc surface ( despite how it looks) is uneven. To get the maximum amount of pad contacting the maximum amount of disc for the maximum amount of braking, they have to bed in, which is basically the pad wearing to match the disc surface. depending on your mileage, your driving style etc it can take a few days.
You shouldnt need to bleed if you only replaced pads and if you did bleed, because you felt like it or because you were changing the fluid, it shouldnt affect braking if you didnt introduce air. I reckon your pads were just bedding in.
Do you think I overdid the use of the word maximum ??
