Tom decided to take off the wind deflectors coz he didn't like them and they rattked loads..... now he's done that he's found chips in the paint where the metal bits clipped on and it's really mucky and shows quite difference in paint where the deflectors protected from the elements. Can anyone help with best way to deal.... Got the colour code of 23W... has anyone found a match for this in Halfords ?? I know this has been asked before coz I remember the original thread but can't find it... once chips touched in, how best to restore colour all round.... and then protect...

try some (AUTO GLYM) paint renovator then AUTO GLYM wax this will lift the dull paint and some (very small) chip's

Don't get it from Halfords it will never match. Find your nearest Paint supplier (Eurocolor or someone like them). They will be able to match it up.

Mine is also 23W (Aztec Blue over Silver).

Give Milners a try www.milneroffroad.com they do paint for the LN130 etc.

I've just ordered some bits from Milner, I didn't think to ask about paint.... don't want another p+p charge for a little paint pot. Sure I'll be ordering something else so I'll ask then if I don't match out anywhere else...

If you can get a chip of the paint it can be matched using a spectrograph [I think] You could also contact Chips Away, they must be able to do it.

I took my wind deflectors off and it lasted until the next time it rained. I'm a bit of a fresh air fan and find that they are more useful as water drip deflectors.
Your local automitive paint factors are the best bet. They can accurately match the colour of your paint and you get a larger can than an off the shelf one.

It does look much sleeker without deflectors but I'm like you Phil and always got the windows open in all weather. Probably why I get neuralgia !! He's looking at having the top bits resprayed. It has mucked up quite a lot of the paint, front and back doors. I can only pass on the info received and let him decide....

OK, I just been out and looked at the spray cans that I got from my paint supplier. For Paint code 23W the two colors are

147 - Silver
8E3 - Dark Blue Metallic

Both these colors are Deltron colors and I got them from Eurocolor. I think PPG colors are the same numbers.

There is a Panelcraft paint and repair shop in Purley - 29 Russell Hill Place. I have heard that Panelcraft are pretty good - they specialise in prestige cars so I am sure that they won't have a problem sourcing the paint.
