Just made the most of a day off work to sort out some bits on my surf.
Fitted an auxillary fuse box behind the glove box, (ala CodLord)

used this to provide permanent live to my cigarette lighter and drivers electric windows.

Can now leave my solar trickle charger plugged in without needing the keys in the ignition and do the windows up after i've parked, brilliant.
Disconnected the door open chime, all others warnings work but no longer being told that the doors open

Also fitted a slim sub under the drivers seat which fills in the sound in the car nicely
All in all a good day.
Big thanks to everyone who contributes so readily with their wisdom and experience, not to mention pictures, making these sorts of jobs so easy. The forum has had all the answers for anything i've wanted to do to my surf so far and i've also discovered loads of stuff that i didn't even know i wanted to do... more fun fiddling to come
