It was 1976, the year I was born - my mum goes on about it being the year the ladybirds were biting.

When I was in Cyprus with the UN I went up to the Trudoos mountains one weekend (used to go quite often to escape the heat) and I've NEVER seen anything like it. MILLIONS of Ladybirds all over the pine forest. Absolute clouds of them. But I can't say I've ever been bitten by one, and I've picked up loads. Mind you, they do munch on the old green fly pretty well.

One of our drivers had a bright yellow spider come out of the bananas the other week. He let it go into some shrubs. He used his gloves though, as he wasn't sure it was poisonous.

one of the worst bites you can get up here has to be a cleg bite hurts like hell. Ticks are b******s as well got one next to belly button not so long ago had to burn it of as it had a $$$$$$ good grip, so now I have a very neat bald patch where I signed at the hair of trying to get it

You need to be careful of those ticks. You can get Lyme's disease.

Had a real big bugga fall from the roof of a loft I was working in once ( I was soldering some pipes) THUD, it hit the floor next to me, biggest I've ever seen outside of a pet shop, It was it's bad luck I had a blow torch in my hand!
