That want I was thinking!Originally posted by The Lovely BoyoFront rubbing? How is all the rear stuff you're buying/fitting gonna solve that?
You simplest answer is to trim the mudflap, the bit where it rubs is further out than the rest, cut this off, then hammer smooth the body seam behind it. If it still rubs, wind out the steering stops so you have a little less steering lock.
A 4" suspension lift rubs slightly when running 33's on 10" rims with standard 25mm offset, that why I fitted to a 1 1/2" body lift on top of the 4" lift to Linda's and Ashleys trucks.

Ok, this is how I understand it......
You need to lift the front to match the rear and clear the tyres 'cos they rub when you go over bumps.
Sounds like all you need is balljoint spacers and new front shocks.
It also sounds like the 16" wheels you have fitted came from a Pajero or landcruiser with a large off-set, hence the rubbing.
With the tyre size you have fitted, it's common for them to rub the inner wheel arch/mudflap, you need to trim a bit off the mudflap.
If your fitting Landcruiser springs with your 2" bodylift, you'll need a extended rear brake line too.
Can you show us some photos?

hey mark pirate storm and me tried to fit the b/joint spacers today. We grinded a fair bit from the wishbones but couldn't get the spacers in as i needed to take the brake hose off and the shock in prder for the lower wishbone to drop enough to get the spacer in and the ball joint, but its a good enough reason to put those front extended brake hoses on that i've had for nearly a yearOriginally posted by surfensteinl/c hd j80 springs ---- milners £44

Yeah, we have 2" on you nearer the bulkhead on full lock.Originally posted by surfensteinah im running 8" rims maybe thats why they dont rub.
see, size does make a difference!!
Ironically, fitting 33's on a narrower rim actually helps you out with the clearances.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

yep it also stops the rim from getting damaged when you hit a kerb.the tyre wall sticks out a fair way.Originally posted by TonyNYeah, we have 2" on you nearer the bulkhead on full lock.

Luckily im free this weekend. So out come the tools and camera. I will try to take as many pictures as I can and investigate exactly what is going wrong.
Thanks for the advice. Like I've done on many occasions (and why this forum is so helpful) I will print out your suggestions to help me along this weekend.
Cheers,
Amit
