Evening all, can anybody tell me which gearbox I have fitted to my 1989 2.4 2LT, manual, or how can I find out, ie markings etc.

Think I put a general guide on gearboxes on the download site the other day. I can remember writing some description about determining transmission/gearbox type.

Knew I could remember something. Obviously the wrong thing though. There are a couple of manuals up there for the manual transmissions/gearboxes. Not sure if either of those give you the specifics on identification. The R151F and G series manuals.

Yes, took longer than expected he he .

Anyway, checked the data plate and it says R150F-G285.

So I take it that the gearbox is an R150F, but what is the G285, or is that part of the code?

G - 8" Diff. 28 - 4.5 ratio. 5 - 4 pinion LSD.
