just had this wacky idea

ok guy just had an idea and thought i might run it past those that know.i will be fabricating new sliders for stein.and i though i would incorporate the exhaust into them,so the idea is to make the sliders out of 50x50x4mm box section.and use the outer slider as the exhaust outlets.heres a quick sketch to show what i mean.the question is will it be legal.any thoughts.

i don't think it would be legal as the exhaust will get hot won't it and you could be up for quite a hefty fine

i can do flames easy,just turn the ignition off going downhill pump the throttle a few times then turn the ignition back on,flame out every time.

i was thinking about fitting a s/s cover plate over the top and sides of the outer slider as a heat shield.

Pardon me if I am being silly, but wouldn't anyone trying to get in using the steps, once the beast is warmed, burn/melt their footwear ?

If you ran the exhaust down to the back of the inner tube, the across to the outer one at the front, it should be cooler..

If I were you, I'd show those plans to your local MOT man, and see what he says about it, heat shields should make it legal, more or less.....

My 1st car a MK11 Cortina had chrome side pipes along with chrome rostyles.
Yes they used to get HOT.

ah good thinking charlie.i can partition the last two or three inches of the box section off.that way there wont be any exhaust gases going up through the box section to burn your feet.
