Thanks to everyone for all your input. Looks like veg is the fuel of the future! Oh and today I went the whole hog, run her down to the fuel light and chucked in 10 ltrs of veg .............. NO PROBS
Well i have put 30 ltrs of veg in and topped the rest with diesel, I have to say the truck seems to run a lot smoother bags of power, no smoke on start up, and what a great smell,

Rapeseed or sunflower. There's very little difference between them.
20 litres in the tank - a little smoke on cold start-up, otherwise no difference. It might be a little smoother, but that be my imagination, or just the smug feeling that I saved a tenner on the tank fill. 40 litres going in to the next fill...

definatly smoother and a tiny bit less diesel chug.. it must be cos the veg has higher octane rating than diesel, and burns slower ie retards timing
(whats i.e. mean??)
if you were going to use veg 100% all of the time may be a hotter glowplug would get the power gains and fuel economy back.
