Could there be differing versions of MM involved here ?

I run the 2004 version, could someone else not ?

I don't think so, both should be the same version thanks for the idea though

Maybe I will email it again, maybe it got corrupted or something

Later versions of MM should be able to open the file but there like software going from newer to older versions wont work
